Still examining......... but..........
Sapphire Blue looks terrific if applied and fired as Susan suggested in =
CM....
especially over slips... and on white clay.
However, on very, very dark clay with no slip, where thick, it still =
looks BLUE.... antiquey looking...... the pitcher I had it on, though, =
is a bad, bad form...... needs lots of work...... one of those long =
beaked ones.... with the front caved in....
that's what it looks like: a bad form with a long beak and caved in =
front..... no humor..... no style.... just bad.....

Emerald Green looked good.... but I am sure will have more life over =
slips ... the color is very nice.

Both glazes were stable and looked great partially layered over one =
another
and with Tom Coleman's Lipstick Purple.
I had an extruded bisqued vase that was too ugly to live..... carved =
vertically with lots of snaky esses in the low parts.... I used the =
three glazes.... overlapping in places etc. Sorta slapped them on. Vase =
looks very good.... changed the whole appearance. My very fine teacher =
who said that you can't make a bad pot into a good one with even the =
best glaze in the world.... not true!!=20

Hank's red shino looks very good... but.... not having yet developed =
any skill in applying slips, that part needs improvement. I =
deliberately chose his rougher shino ...... rather than the gorgeous =
smooth one ..... because I wanted to see what I could do with it. It's =
difficult to mess up. I like it, and know I'll like it more after =
practice with slips. The Pat's Black that I had in the creases looks =
great...... but it's green .... not bright..... just a sort of tealish =
green.... very nice, though. I'll keep the look.

Lots of other stuff going on in that load, but that's it for now. =
Somebody's gotta go moderate.......
