Well, I finally bit the bullet and ponied up the money to have a real
professional web site done. It should be all up and running at
www.paullewingtile.com. Give it a try and tell me what you thing.

Paul,
Years ago I used to say that when I grew up, I would have matching towels in
my bathroom. Well, I am and I still don't but now I aspire to having Paul
Lewing tiles in my bathroom. Now, I need a house...
Nice site, easy to get around. Well done.
Best regards,
Carol

Nice and clean, fast loading... good solid layout and images.

I did wonder whether the workshop page was making the most of the space.
can't see any point forcing folk to scroll down a long column which only
takes up about 25% of the available screen space. all that white makes it
look as though a picture should have loaded, but didn't.

Acrobat order form is an interesting idea - have you tested that with
browsers that don't have Acrobat installed? The download is quite big -
might put some folk off. It's not a bad idea to offer an alternative,
although that can get in the way of the design.

cheers

I have recently re-vamped and re-styled my web site.

Its contents has been re-arranged and up-dated. The Pottery Techniques
content is generally the same if you were familiar with some of its
content, but the Links page has been extended.

While it seems OK on my computer I cannot see if it presents problems to
others using different browsers or operating systems. If, therefore,
anyone has the time and interest to look I would appreciate your
feedback on any problems that you find.

Thank you.

David

David

I use Mozilla Firefox instead of IE....it worked beautifully. I
clicked a bunch of different areas and it was fine.

Nice site

Hi David,

I would be to see the pottery close up. Would that be possible?
And/or a way to simply move from one photograph to another without
having to go to the menu to click between photos? The bright blue
squares are somewhat distracting to my eye, might just be me.

Your pottery is beautiful, and I like the designs you are using.

We use a new Mac PowerPC G5 Dual 2.3 processor with OS X software
Version 10.4.8 with a 24 inch screen. Eudora and Safari 2.0.4. With
that, the menu type is quite small and difficult to read. A size or
two larger might help. There are a few misspellings, bases for basis,
to-days for todays, nothing serious. A few words are capitalized that
do not need to be, a few periods needed here and there. One of the
disadvantages of being raised with an English teacher for a mother
and then becoming a typesetter and graphic artist. You tend to notice
things that others might not... and that can get in the way more
often than not. LOL!

I can't wait for Joe to dig into the Glaze Calculation Software,
that's his love.

Sincerely,
Rita Shaw

Me, too.

I, too, found these electric blue, drop-shadow frames
distracting. But I liked very much David's choice of the light brown
text on the dull blue background. Very easy on the eyes and yet
still very clear (jeez, how my old eyes hate it when people use tiny,
fixed-size, white text on black). Though elsewhere on the site I
found bright red text on the blue which I found hard to read.

Or reducing your monitor's resolution, Rita! ;-)

But really, David's text is scalable (a nice touch--I wish more folks
would do this) and can be adjusted by ones browser (at least by
Firefox and Internet Explorer). And, Rita, since Macs and their
associated software are well-known to do most everything better, I'd
guess that Safari can do that, too.

Just don't show Mama *your* first sentence here ("I would be to
see..."), Rita! ;-)

Snarf, splutter... got to watch those spell checkers! And a sticky
key, yuckers. Of course, I didn't check my own e-mail, LOL!
Sometimes those errors can be hysterical! My mom's long gone, but I
have a feeling she still watches over my shoulder!
