"I haven't learned to read you yet, and that's good. God is about to =
skate
on the ice, no maybe a topless female goalie or maybe a jockless
transvesite. Am I getting close to a trip to the Principal's office or =
the
penalty box? Please, please getting in trouble with the teacher was so
common place for me. It was a trip to see the Principal that really =
made my
mind work."

Thanks, Tony........ no big secret..... making me laugh works every =
time. Fortunately, by the time students figured it out they were ready =
to graduate..... and the younger kids didn't believe them .... thought =
it was a Desert Myth. And, naturally, most of the best laughs were =
unintentional which meant I had to keep them to myself...... hated that. =
Like the kids that offered to take me to lunch at the local pizza place =
if I'd not tell their dads they were speeding on campus ..... didn't =
enter their young minds that the last thing I'd want to do would be to =
hang with kids on my "off" time..... not that I didn't love the kids, =
but enough's enough. ........ Or the kid that beat the very young =
policeman by about ten steps in a mad half mile run into my office, both =
huffin&puffin and yelling obscenities ...... seems the student had been =
Oinking every time he saw the cop in town, always getting away before =
capture .... this time he oinked from the roof of the drama building on =
campus. The officer wanted blood ....... big time..... had all but =
pulled his gun .... (what he really needed was to be removed from =
juvenile work for awhile.) Anyway, they were both funny as an old =
slapstick movie..... hard to keep a straight face as they described what =
and where the disrespect had occurred ... but this was serious stuff and =
I needed to keep them in opposite corners of the office until we all =
agreed that punishment was appropriate, and that the officer was doing =
his duty by chasing the student (sure glad he didn't catch him!) ; in =
fact, disciplinary action had to happen, of course ...... you bet...... =
but murder was too extreme.

AND I'm going to try that sharkskin glaze! What's one more? I would =
use slips..... would love to use slips..... just don't really know how. =
I have a couple pre-mixed..... Tom Coleman's and that one that begins =
with an R that I ordered from Archie Bray a couple of years ago. I =
have 4 mixed five years ago from Robin Hopper's glaze book ....... and =
Peggy Heer's Universal Slip. I'm trying some now though with Filley's =
Sapphire Blue and Emerald Green because she sort of explains her usage =
in the CM article. AND I'm using a white slip under Hank Murrow's =
shinos because he gave me some directions. I know I need to sit still =
and work it out but have kilns to load and overfire ....
