Chandra,

How about the sultry "FIRE" by The Pointer Sisters ?

Lyrics below:

I'm ridin' in your car, you turn on the radio
You're pullin' me close, I just say no
I say I don't like it, but you know I'm a liar
'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire

Late at night, you're takin' me home
You say you wanna stay, I say I wanna be alone
I say I don't love you, but you know I'm a liar
'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire

BRIDGE

You had a hold on me right from the start
A grip so tight I couldn't tear it apart
My nerves all jumpin', actin' like a fool
Well, your kisses they burn, but my heart stays cool...

Well, Romeo and Juliet, Samson and Delilah
Baby you can bet a love they couldn't deny
My words say split, but my words they lie
'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire

LEAD BREAK

Ooh fire...
Kisses like fire...
Burn me up with fire
I like what you're doin now, fire
Touchin me, fire
Touchin me, burnin me, fire
Take me home

FADE

Best of luck,

Jim

Hi Chandra,
Here's a couple:
1. Fire Woman--the Cult (hard rock radio staple)
2. Digging for Fire--the Pixies (this is a little obscure, sorry--
college rock from the early 90's)
That's all I can think of right now--
Peace!

What? No, "Little Brown Jug"? :-)

How about "The Wall"? Not overtly clay, heat, etc. but
with lines like:
"All in all, it's just another brick in the wall"
and
"Hey! Teacher! Leave those kids alone"
...surely it would fit in?

You could go classical... Stravinsky's "Firebird" or
Beethoven's 1812 - all those canon could sound like
pots exploding!

Wasn't there a Burl Ives song? "On top of Old Smokey,
all covered in cheese..."? And "Puff the Magic
Dragon"... Too retro? Well, how about being perverse
and include water themes like "Albatross" (Fleetwood
Mac)...

Well, it is a Raku firing, right?

Does anyone remember the title of the song with the line:

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
Burn, (******-******), burn

One hang-out I used to go to (waaaay back), used to play that song
and the Talking Heads' Burning Down The House back to back frequently.

On second thought...you may *not* want to use that song given that
the actual expletive IS heard in the lyrics....

I am not sure who "sings" this song, but I am pretty sure it is called "Fire
water burn" (firewater burn?)
very interesting tune!
