I actually find that tepid water is less abusive. Another thing I
discovered is just to use a soft brush, no soap on your hands. Scrub
gently with the brush covering your fingernails, backs and palms of your
hands. Clay is not dirt so you don't have to clean up with soap.

Using a soft nail brush (w/o soap) to clean all the clay off my hands has
been one of the best tips I picked up from Clayart (saw it maybe a year or
so ago). I had quite a bit of trouble with cracking and dry skin until I
started doing this . . . . Also finish up with a good lotion of your choice
right after washing; it helps to seal in moisture while skin is still damp.
Porter's Lotion is my favorite - not cheap but a bottle lasts almost
forever.

Mary in TN, where warm days, cool nights and plenty of rain this year have
produced one of the most beautiful autumn leaf shows that I can remember.
I'm struck by its beauty and the irony that nature can be at its high point
while humanity is caught up in such agony.
