Blair Meerfeld, Instructor
Saguache, Colorado studio artist and gallery owner, Blair Meerfeld, works in
ceramics, primarily salt glazed stoneware incorporating native clays &
slips. Blair has exhibited throughout the US, France and Korea. He will
demonstrate throwing, slip application and glazing techniques, with
discussions of history, aesthetics, and theory of working in stoneware. A
variety of clay methods will be taught.

I just took a kiln building workshop with Blair in Carbondale, Colorado
through the Carbondale Clay Center and it was terrific. He's a great teacher
and his pottery is gorgeous. Click on the link above to see some of his
pots. His pottery is also on the cover of Ceramics Monthly, Feb. 2000 issue.

On my way home from Carbondale I stopped in Leadville at the Super8 Motel to
check their rates. That weekend the rate is $49/night. CMC in Leadville has
a dormitory, so maybe they can house people there for the weekend. Then
there's always camping out if you have a warm sleeping bag/tent - the views
are beautiful.
