Lana Wilson offers to make kind of coating that looks like wood fire in
electric kiln. I made it once applying all the tests on piece. I loved the
result.

Sometime ago Merie invited us to her humble site. There were beautiful
vessels wood fired.
I decided to repeat the tests.
The idea here is kind of volumetric glaze. I called it coat because in some
cases it built totally "wrong".
It needs a lot of trying. Lana Wilson offers to add, if it is needed flux
and so am I.
I shall give you some results and some mistakes of mine.
My main mistake was wherever I had to use Bentonite, I did not use big
enough jar to be able to add enough water. Another mistake will be described
latter on.
For this test I used the most expensive clay I know here Amaco-48 I made
pinch pots and poured the glaze from the top, to have the effect of
glaze-claybody like dripping candles.
Also on test bars on cream mottled claybody, which I will upload when I
finish the letters.

So Lana Wilson offers materials, but you can try your owns just write down
what you do-and the best -write us!
50/50

Wood ash zinc:Green Beautiful -ugly, I mean ugly but a starting point,
craters, were also before firing.

Soda Ash TSP where thick darker though dry, looks like wet.

Red art and lepidolite I imitated through Insight.

Red art-Lithium: Not good

Iliminite lepidolite, need more flux

Rutile bentonite uneven Blue and regular rutile color.
Now
I find a problem
Is it Rutile blue?
I do not know I gave to glaze the same number this one and "Blue Earth with
white dots" I do not know which tests bar belong to. I will check it again
next week. They might be similar.
I knew I might have this problem, but it happened only with a two of glaze
so not big deal!

3134 -magnetite I used Black Iron oxide Beautiful dark brown I would add a
little clay.

Wood ash /red art over Amaco ugly
Over light mottled clay light matte buterscotch

Another time I made rutile+bone ash dry orange

rutile /3134 over amaco like uneven glued paper. above the German mottled
light claybody dry brown orange

lithium \ rutile falls out

iliminite \3134 ugly

BENTONITE \/TSP Exelent repeat and learn Beautiful!

TSP Starting point.

TSP + calcined soil, interesting, I think regular soil could be better.

lepidolite+ red art over light body, rich light brown- over Amaco ugly

iliminite +tsp not in our school ( "your son can go on learning next
year-but not in our shcool" headmaster words)

2120/manganese Carbonate over amaco kind of shiny black lead.
over the cream body shiny dark brown. replacing for Frit 2120 will be 3110.

So I have to repeat my Blue earth.
There are some "tails" I shall add them to my next firing.
The nexrt mission, to upload the tiles to the net
