Yes.
Actually its biggest use is in soft drinks, ice cream, and other food
products. Almost all of it in the world comes from Sudan, although Nigeria
is trying to develop a gum arabic industry. The United States has an
embargo on products from Sudan, because it considers them a terrorist
nation. But we make an exception for gum arabic. After all, principles are
all fine and dandy, but not if it means you can''t have soda pop.

"Gum. Probably gum arabic. It's what makes them brush so smoothly, too.
Also what makes them take longer to dry than the purely water-based glazes
you make yourself.

So that's what it's for. I bought some and have been moving it around my studio for 3 years cuz I couldn't remember why I bought it. Does anyone have advice on how to mix it and can I use it with homemade underglazes and engobes?
