I just ran across this bookmarked site and thought it might
be of interest considering
the recent talk of handles.

Interesting site, and well presented. However, how many of those mugs=20=

would you consider "comfortable" for drinking your morning cup of java?=

This was more than interesting to me - inspiring, thought-provoking,
motivating - some stunning work here, and yes, I'd use any of them :>)

Though I'll admit it isn't likely that this work would be the hot seller at
any local craft fairs or exhibitions around these parts . . . ;>)

Thanks for sharing this find!

If others haven't had a chance to check out this site yet, I hope you can
take a few moments and look at the cup exhibition; also some interesting
links and features here as well.

Good question, Wesley. It is important to me how my morning
cup feels in my hand.
I would relish the task of trying many of them on for fit.

While we're on the subject of cups, has anyone else ever
heard/read about a "find" on Crete of a pile of simple cups
that were believed to have been used as "disposable cups" at
sporting events (the bull leaping thing, I suppose), or is
this something that I dreamed up all on my own? I've no
clue of my alleged source.

When you think about it, the humble mug is the most intimate piece
that a potter can make. It greets you first thing in the morning, it
touches your lips, hugs your hands, and gives you nourishment.

So; form, glaze surface, handle design, are all crucial to getting
the day off to a good start. Meticky Liz

There was a beautifully elegant article in Ceramics Monthly
sometime in
the past addressing that very issue. It was written by Jack
Troy. I have no
idea what year or month, but if anyone else happens to know
and posts it, it
is well worth the effort to track it down and read.
