I have always thought myself an artist (even as a kid) because I saw =
things. Not imaginary things but things some or most people missed or =
did not take the time to see. Nuance I guess. I have always collected =
so called unvaluable things like rocks, bits of bark or sticks with neat =
textures or colours. I used to bring leaves into the house in the fall =
to the horror of my mother and was amazed at the beauty and differences =
of grasses along the side of the road. Seeing things like shape and =
being pleased with it. I like tension and looseness all in the same =
thing. The trick of course is to translate the seeing into being! That =
is the artist. For sale or not.

I consider myself a potter. I make my living making pots. I agree with =
Tony, better pots do not necessarily mean more money. But I would not =
be happy with myself if I did not strive to have a better design because =
I can see the difference. I am not IMHO a professional but I do strive =
to act professionally in my business. I get out of bed, deliver on time =
and show up when I am supposed to and I plan the whole year out. I like =
my life as a potter.
