wholesale....how's biz

Wendy asked "How's biz".

That's the crucial question. Not whether her other comments were appropriate
to the list or not. Yet, if you review the responses, very few respond to the
question of "how's biz".

I'm beginning to think it's a plot. In fact, I'm beginning to wonder if Wendy
actually wrote those nasty comments about the Republicans. I think someone
intercepted her mail and tacked on the comments in order to divert our
attention from the real question........ "how's biz". Is it good? Is it bad?
Is clay going to hold on in this market? Are we all going to be looking for
day jobs? That's the crucial question.

I'd really love to hear some answers.

Ah Kathi...To the point, as always...THANKS.

Here's my assessment of my "Biz"...from a very limited perspective...
I just started doing a regular Saturday gig at a new venue. I thought I
would sell nothing because it was absolutely new. Surprisingly, I have sold
extremely well...and only high-end stuff. Average purchase ranges from $45
to $150. This a small retail venue. Publicity was okay, not great, has
been getting better. Talking to other artists also showing there, the sales
have been steady, and all for high-end, well-made things.

So, as was said earlier...customers who have money and have always bought at
the high end, continue to buy at similar rates. Those in the middle, who
are more cautious, tend not to buy when the economic forecasts are poor.

My two cents...
Sandy
