I have had the same experience with bubbles. After reading
several books, one suggested the addition of spodumene. In the one glaze which I
tried it, it removed the bubbles. However, it does modify some
colors. The logic of using it is to assist in the firing to get a smooth
glaze. If this is the case, a modification in the firing would give the
same results as adding spodumene.
