called L&L and they said there does seem to be a problem with that amount
of movement.
I have the new hinge assisted lid and mounting bracket that they just came
out with. Seems the problem
lies in the design and construction of the lid supporting bracket that runs
from front to back of kiln across top
of firebrick. the metal bracket is not allowing the lid to grow as normal
during firing and there for the lid is bowing almost
a full 1/2 inch in the center, allowing the lid to lift up in front and on
sides up to 1/2 inch also. looks like they are trying to
get it straight.
