I had a great experience recently when I posted a query regarding buying a
used R-8 Shimpo.
I heard pros and cons from several people.
Then I got an email from Mary Kay Botkins at Shimpo.
First, she asked if it was ok that she contact me. I was delighted to hear
from her! She answered all my questions and also offered to send me
info...schematic etc.
There was no sale for her/Shimpo... I was just buying an old Shimpo that
looks like R-2 D-2 from another potter. I really appreciated her help.
Knowing that manufacturers are lurking and coming forward when one of us has
a problem is just fabulous!

Gayle Bair- Who has a happy little R-8 Shimpo I named R-2 sitting in a great
spot in my studio. I think my CI is jealous.... I never gave it a name!
