brush handles for old hands

My suggestion is to use some kneadable epoxy - the gray kind that comes in a
roll and has the texture of kneadable art eraser before it sets - and
"enhance" the handle of an existing brush. An appropriate amount of the
kneaded goo is applied in the normal area of grip and the user impresses
their fingers as they wish. (Greased fingers or plastic wrap can ease
sticking) Upon setting, a few minutes, the custom fit handle is ready for
use.

This technique should be tested to see if the user is satisfied before one
starts in on those number 12 sable brushes.
