Dear Gary,
Huge category, glazing. But I have found more recently, that most of =
the bases I color, I can layer the same base colored with rutile, maybe =
3%, and get a lot of streaking and movement in the glazes together. For =
instance, the base colored with 1% cobalt and the second glaze the base =
colored with 3% rutile. However, rutile can make a glaze runny, so do =
not overlap these glazes all the way down to the foot. It can look =
quite nice with just rim or half the pot layered.=20

Eleanor is correct, in that I most always initially test in bowls. =
However, when I have a glaze that I know the base is working, and want =
to color, I use tiles. =20

Please contact me off line if there are some specific things you are =
looking for. There are many glaze tests in the archives. =20
