I recommend Bailey - the newest wheels are competitively priced, and have some very
cool features that make them ideal for non-stop use. I doubt you'll find many used,
but it's worth your while to look into them.

Hello all,

I find that I may be teaching throwing to middle school kids. I don't expect
that this will involve a lot of kids and I don't expect them to spend a huge
amount of time at the wheel. And of course this project will be run on very
limited funds.

I have always used kickwheels for throwing, and know very little about
electric wheels.

So my question is, what are my best options for a couple of inexpensive but
workable electric wheels?

They need to be:

- relatively cheap
- relatively sturdy
- perhaps available as used equipment?
What are your thoughts? Thanks!

William:
One answer to all your
questions--Pacifica-Pacifica-Pacifica-Pacifica. We are a working, teaching
ceramic studio in Brooklyn we bought ten and they are workhorses. The price
is right also. So as I said that's what we bought and use no complaints they
are great.
Sincerely:

William -
Last year we purchased some Creative Industries ClayBoss wheels. They are
capable of easily centering 25 lbs. They are sturdy, and work very
smoothly. You can usually find them on sale for about $500, and you will
not find another electric wheel for less money.
Good luck -
