tile making diagram ii

updated fri 18 may 01

WOW!!! Had no idea SO many people were interested in hand made tiles!! The
diagram itself is complete and pretty much self explanatory. (My days of
draftmanship came in handy). I've typed up an "instruction sheet" to go
along with the drawing which might help to explain how this "device" works.
Keep in mind THAT ALL SHAPES AND SIZES ARE POSSIBLE!!!! Your imagination is
the only limit!! This particular diagram that I have drawn is for ten inch
square tiles, but I have successfully made the same tile maker for 4 inch
tiles, 6 inch tiles, "runner"- or border tiles, and triangular shaped tiles.
Keep in mind your clay shrinkage rate when building the tile maker. Any
shape is possible!! It's good to have at least some basic woodworking skills
too. Don't cut off your finger like I did! I'm happy with the diagram, but
give me a few days to tweak the text (I found my original notes from the
workshop, amazing what one can find during Spring cleaning!). I'll do
xerox's for free but might ask for a Self addressed stamped envelope for the
mail out. Is that fair? Give me a few days to get this in order. ciao all,
Jim

PS: This idea comes from Pete Pinell. Have to give him credit! ciao, Jim

Yes, it's fair to ask for a stamped self-addressed envelope. And what about
your photocopying costs? If you have to pay for photocopies, ask people to
put a dollar into the envelope, or a couple of postage stamps that you can
use later, or something. The organization alone on your part of a mailing
like this is a lot of work.

Jim,

Send me a copy and I will scan it in and email you a
copy of the scan as a jpg--then you can email to
anybody--save paper, stamps, trips to the snail box
and easy. What do you think?

Dear Jim and Tony,

If this were possible I'd really like a copy.
