Hi y'all
I am looking for varied surfaces when smoke firing. I know how to terra
syg, burnish and wax. What chemicals can I add when smoking and suggestions
other than sawdust and dung could I use?
Thanks, Janus

Hello, Janus. I have a few suggestions, but haven't smoke fired for
many years. Straw packed against the pot makes wonderful patterns.
You can lightly sprinkle in copper carbonate and you can even
soak straw in a solution of that or salt water.
Are you applying wax before smoking? Or are you referring to wax
for polish after?
I used to airbrush assorted thin solutions of colored terra sigs
or oxide washes before smoke firing.
Preferred to use my color in terra sig but you can try anything if
you have enough pots and patience. Good luck. Bacia
