Deb Kaplan asked if anyone had used glass on a vertical clay surface- I
have with good success. While the glaze is still wet I just push the pieces
of glass(usually quite small) into the glaze. If the glaze is dry, I put
clear glaze on , then the glass. I use stained glass in 1/8 inch
thicknesses normally, sometimes I use 1/16 inch glass. Spectrum and
Bullseye are two stained glass mfrs. Any glass can be used, but some won't
be compatible with the glazes. As for interface colors, Ive found two glass
colors that outline just beautifully. A red that outlines black, and a lime
green that outlines bright yellow. The stainrd glass pieces are quite
small. A large piece might be 1/8 in. by 3/4 in., a small one may be 1/8
in. by 1/8 in. I normally fire to 06 or 05 and get great results. Good
luck on your attempts.
