I've never tried Hutchinson's slip but I did try Dave Robert's slip and glaze
combination successfully - only once to date.
Resist Slip
China clay 3
Flint 2
Glaze
High Alkaline Frit 40
Soft Borax 40
China Clay 10
If you decide to try this out and you need more details as to firing
procedure, just ask.
I've seen that Jerry Caplan pours slip over his bisque plates and fires to
720 F before reducing. Does anyone know what his slip recipe is ? I don't
know if it would work on vertical surface though.
