Hello Scott,

QIT stands for Quebec Iron and Titanium. QIT owns an ilmenite mine in
northeastern Quebec.
The ore is shipped to Tracy where it is processed into titanium dioxide
slags, iron pigs, steel billets, iron and steel powders, and steel
autoparts.

Here is an analysis of QIT- Ilmenite:

SiO2 10.54
Al2O3 6.79
Fe2O3 32.72
PeO5 0.10
TiO2 25.69
CaO 2.06
MgO 3.76
FeO 12.78

The rest being very small amounts of
other oxides and " impurities"(carbon, sulfur etc).

So there is nothing toxic in this material.
