Dear Hudson,

Ababy sent a receipe for Emanuel Cooper Yellow Matt as follows
(with barium)

19.7 Barium Carb.
9.7 Whiting
9.7 Zinc oxide
48.6 Soda Feldspar
9.7 Ball Clay
2.8 Rutile

It was so dry and pale yellow, that I remember I kept checking the test =
outside to see that there was a glaze on the clay.

You could try this recipe with Strontium Carb. instead of Barium,
the ratio is 1,0:0,75.

>From Barium to Strontium, divide by 0,75.
100 gr. Barium is replaced by 133 gr. Strontium.

Not every recipe I replaced Barium with Strontium looks like the =
original. The glazes were mostly all close, but in a few cases, there =
was a dramatic difference.

You can also add up to 50% Mangnesium Carb. to any glaze (also a la =
Ababy) to get it drier and maybe ball and crawl.

Lastly, you can powder your pieces with dry clay (Hazardous, wear a =
mask) to get your clay surface to dry out, part and crack, and then a =
thin layer of glaze sprayed or dipped fast in a thin solution. Or spray =
with a soda ash wash. This is course a dry texture as opposed to only a =
dry surface.

Good luck,
Best regards,
