just out mowing, thinking of who invented horse hair use in pots.
hmm, someone just used what was at hand. no big thought, needed
something to burn in pots.
probably had just brushed `silver cloud`...it was all over the place.

now/ `hey, wally, while you are in town, go past the stables...you
know, over in back of the golf course....get some horse hair.
i guess it works well with pots.`

or, `can we use leaves to reduce raku?` god yes...does it burn?

a wonderful kurt story...
he was doing blackware...wonderful stuff, but, he had heard that
the mata ortiz potters were using graphite and turpentine. he said
to me, `damn, wonder what proportion graphite to turpentine they
use? better run about 1256 tests.`

i said, `hmmm, mata ortiz potters. they just use what is at hand...probably
just dump graphite into a bucket of turpentine, or spirits.`

`no,no, gotta do tests`...1256 of them.

we went to mata ortiz, and sure enough...asked the guy...
`no problemo, just dump a bunch of graphite into a bucket of turp.
whatever you have.` his hands were black as carbon. just slathered
it on with his hands.
nice pots however.

sorta like being at the farm, need a special tool...don't have it, but gotta
get that big bolt off the tractor.
used a c clamp/and a crow bar. off it came. i think i will sell the patent
to sears.

was looking at some old books on tractor repair...my original 1949 service
manual says....`put tractor under a stout limb. use ropes and pull tractor
off the ground in front. take out big bolts...tractor will come in two
pieces.
repair.` (note. illustrations)
tree with tractor hangin.

i wonder if those limbs are osha approved? damn tractor got repaired..
and if you were not a dork, it did not fall on you. (natural farm selection)

gotta get back on the tractor. got all the `lady bugs` cleaned up from
the winter kill. about 3 million, 488 thousand of them. (most on one
window sill.) not too many dead mice this year. think i found and patched
the hole. rural living...gotta love it.
sharlene found a book of `world dolls`...about 1970...she is in heaven.
hand work...it sure is univeral.
