New glazes
*************************
The point here was
1)To try and do something with the cadycal I bought from Axner
To make a substitute to the 80/20, With a lot of materials that are or
behave like clay, in the point of suspension-able (is it a word? You don'=
t
have frit 2120 but without any B2O3 for red clay you take redart.
What you really have to do, is to take the basic recipe of 80/20 through =
a
glaze software and while converting the materials try to use the "clay li=
ke"
materials as I wrote, includes wood ash.

The Cadycal is very similar in structure to Colemanite but does not fly
around.

Result

When 'gloss', dark gray with nice crackles very shiny, probably from the
B2O3
around 980C (?) when the cone, 06 starts to bend; White, nicer crackles.=
It
is
about the and of the gas, I do not know if it has to do anything except t=
he
long firing.

Here is the original recipe of Egyptian Raku from Dewitt Gimblet:

Too much alumina for ^06
I changed the recipe using frit 2120 and reduced the kaolin to have 0.2 m=
ol
alumina. My good adviser Yehuda, said I should not remove the Soda ash as=
it
has it's own part in the "game"migrating to the surface.

In this glaze I play the miser; In order to by books and pay for them mos=
tly
to U.S. post office, I try to add ash wherever I can, to save frits.
Nothing to copy, just the idea, The result was more like ash glaze than r=
aku
glaze, at list it matured in regular raku "gloss".

I broke the wolastonite. Again unless you buy your materials from my
supplier, it is only the idea I pass here.
