Hi Chris. What an interesting effect of the wax stroke. What is the red
Glaze.? I thought shino's were orange with black carbon trapping. I am new
to shino and have just made my first test glaze. Your results are
intriguing.

Hey Vicky,
It just a clear glaze that I turned red with copper and tin I think, my
notebook is in the studio. But there's nothing remarkable about it. It
misbehaves and traps carbon (maybe early melt) and turns red when it damn
well feels like it.

I can give you the recipe but it's outside like I said. Unusually it's red
on one side white on the other, flashing (not the naked kind).

I'm new to shinos too, my first shino doesn't have soda ash but it turns
orange in places and trap carbon in a mistier way. And I also have one that
when very thick turns green and has just two ingredients. That last picture
is my first shino with the "real" ingredients (aka soda ash)

And by the way, like your site, beauty stuff. chris
