There are a few spots remaining for the Ian Currie Workshop in Florence,

South Carolina. Here is the information. If you are interested, call or

email.

Doug, (and it was great to see so many of you at NCECA)

Ian Currie Workshop
April 21-22, 2001
Workshop/Supplies Fee: $50 (free to current students and FMU alumni)
Enrollment is limited.

Participants will need to bring notebooks, pocket calculators, aprons
and/or hand towels. All other materials will be provided.

Saturday 9-4
Ian will introduce his grid system of glaze formulation. All
participants will mix his/her own glazes (glaze chemicals provided).
Glazes will be applied to test tiles (porcelain, stoneware and iron
bearing clay provided) and fired over night to cone 6 in an electric
kiln. Rather than leave campus for lunch, we will have pot luck.
Everyone who can, please bring a dish to share.

Sunday 10-4
We may start a little later than 10, if it seems that everyone is
understanding the process well enough. Ian will provide a short slide
lecture, introduce his support web site, and discuss further glaze
formulation techniques. We will end the day with a review of the fired
glaze results and a question and answer session.
