Someone borrowed a kiln of mine once to do some "tests".  I didn't know it, but she attempted to fire some chicken bones--maybe trying to get some bone ash, who knows?  In any case, it ruined the kiln, and that was that.  Something to do with the carbon?  Anyone know about this stuff?

Suzanne,

What kind of kiln and what was the manner of its ruination? I calcine
all manner of bones during low bisque firings (^018 terra sig) in an
electric kiln with no bad effects.
