Went to the ACC show in St. Paul on Friday. Stopped at Judith Duff"s booth
and before I got to look at her work Mel (who was there already) said look
at the drawings of her train kiln. That's when I almost peed in my
pants! I have never seen such a WONDERFUL and TOTALLY complete set of
plans. Her architect daughter did the CAD set of drawings. One could
build the kiln from the three dimensional drawings alone - literally every
brick is shown. I sure wish we had those plans when we built our train.
We could have adapted her 10 brick long chamber easily to suit our ideas
for a smaller train kiln. The three dimensional drawings I was told sell
for $150. There is also a set of course by course "floor" plans for
$50. Further information can be gotten by
emailing Judith

I can't get over how thrilled I was to see the plans and her fantastic wood
fired work. Judith had some great platters using images from nature on
display for sale along other fine wood fired work. Her background in
biology and painting is serving her well in her claywork. I was ready to
move in with her but didn't figured it would work out -- met her husband a
very nice guy!

Thinking of the time I spent at her booth and talking with her and her
husband still gives me pleasure - but I no longer am wetting>
