Hi all,

I've seen all the posts about ITC coatings and their adverts in Ceramics
Monthly, and it sounds like a really good idea.

At the last Aberystwyth Festival Jo Finch was telling me about a product
that he'd heard of that sounds like it could be ITC or similar. At the
time he felt it could solve a problem I had - still have, but with a
different kiln, but he had never used it and was duboius about coating
elements.

I see from all your mail on the subject that it works. So my question
is, can I get it in UK, if so does anyone have an address/phone number
in UK or web site/Email address? Their ad only gives a USA phone number.

The elements in my little (but all I could afford) kiln last for 60
firings, I end up changing them every 3 months, or so, and they always
go at the worst possible time - yes I know it would be sensible to have
spares ahead of time, aim to do that.

Any help with this would really be appreciated.

Thanks

Jacqui

If I were to apply itc to new soft brick, could the kiln be dismanteled w=
ith out to much damage occurring to the brick. With the intent of using t=
he brick again.

Ther is an English product called Furnascote (high Zircon) that might be =
what you
are looking for. Ruthanne Tudball used it on the bricks of her soda kiln.=
I
understant it is very similar to I.T.C.

Hi,

Here's a start. I tried to find more about UK/Euro suppliers but had
no luck.

ITC Home Page (it's under construction, but there's a link to their
products.)
http://www.jax-inter.net/~itc/

Budget Casting Supply is a dealer in California for this product.
http://budgetcastingsupply.com/ITC.html
http://budgetcastingsupply.com/Price%20Sheet.html
http://budgetcastingsupply.com/images/ITC-%20Tech%20Data-3.jpg
There is good information about the various ITC coatings, including
pictures, prices in USD, and which product to use in which situation.
They state that they will price international shipping, and there are
links from the first url to msds pages.

Hello Jacqui

The only British supplier of ITC that I'm aware of is Scarva Pottery in Co.
Down. Their website address is WWW.scarvapottery.com. They also supply
Mason stains and lots of other interesting things.

Happy shopping
