form vs glaze #3

I need to add, also, that the ten or more lessons in form and design
that Ivor was kind enough to send me help me daily in my struggle to
achieve the forms I admire in my Mind's Eye. Such a generous clayarter!
I haven't completed the lessons and may never be able to do so ... BUT
just "The Basics" have enhanced my vision of nature's details and how I
may apply that vision to clay. I'm not there yet ... haven't really
produced a single pot that represents the forms I "see" everywhere. I'm
not even sure that can come with massive amounts of practice, which I am
happy to do .... in this case, seems to me that you're either born with
the ability ..... OR .... and this is a change in my thinking from a
couple years ago ... eventually constant exposure to nature's art and
the superb art of others may ... just may ... make the difference
between trite work and the work I'd like to do. At the moment I believe
that such culling of the bad from the better in my own pots ... and
allowing (can't be forced is my present opinion) ... allowing ... my own
nature to meld with the natural world around me COULD make the
difference.... maybe ... eventually ... new thoughts for me. Not
mystical. Very real. Difficult to express in words or in clay.
