Hi,
I mentioned I'd check the kiln wash of the rod and cone holders before
changing the slide. Seems neither was the problem. On the outside if the
kiln there was a plate that is held on with 2 screws, this kept the rod
arm centered inside the ceramic tube. It was loose and the arm was
binding up and not dropping when the cone melted. I readjusted it and
checked the rod for free fall ans tightned the 2 screws. I'm firing
tomorrow, will watch it closley. Mike Gordon
