hospitality suite/nceca

just to clear the air:
the hospitality suite that we rent for nceca for the clayart
room is a public space. we pay much more for this
than the common private room.

all hotels control what goes on in these suites. some
more than others.

because of the strict contract that was given to us, i had
to sign for the room and use my credit card. acers, as a non
profit corporation cannot enter into any of these types of
contracts, for any reason. the law is clear on this.

i have little concern in signing. we are a very adult group, and
conduct ourselves as adults. we have never had drunken brawls
at nceca. the clayart room is a very respectful place. any potter,
single woman, man, young person can be in that space at any time
and not be bothered. it is a safe place.

i have in the past, carried a martini or two around the clayart room.
it is no big deal. we should be able to do that this year. (not me,
however.) i respect our group a great deal, and that respect has
always been given back.

we just won't be able to fill the toilet with ice, have bottles
sitting on the commode. mix in the tub. i suggest we be a bit
more subtle. that is all.
i am not going to monitor anyone. but, as always, obnoxious behavior
will be dealt with. we call joyce.

others are paying for this room so that we may meet, enjoy company,
communicate and make friends. we will respect that.
it is the way it has always been.
and will continue to be.

there will be new and exciting things to discuss this year.

Joyce,

Sounds like you might want to bring your high heels to Charlotte!!!
Although I suppose that the hotel will be fully carpeted and we won't have a
chance to hear you coming...

Decided to retire the high heels, Jonathan ..... it's all this ancient
one can do to wobble about with cane and worn tennies reading a little
Zen now and then and having a sip of Charlotte Pepsi ... crookedy toes
have won the battle. Will bring the heels for the mayor to do his own
leg breaking .... I think he's carried this being sick business a mite
too far.

In the Mojave planning to go incognito in the Clayart Room ... such
events plague me with shyness ... I'll be the one sittin' in the corner
admiring all the rest of you .... the one you don't recognize....
