Hello,

Today is about the only chance at getting some writing in but I do contin=
ue to
monitor the posts.
Our center stocks Pacifica wheels and they are very, very easy to remove =
the
splash pans from. Pull the pan to you at the end of throwing and it will =
come
right off. When you clean it simply put it right back on like you took it=
off
by having the smaller hump area on one splash pan pulled from the opposin=
g
side straight to you till it hits the wheel head. The other half will sli=
p
right over it and you push it into position. =

I can't possibly imagine anything being any easier than taking the pans a=
part
and washing them and putting them back on. Also you can see the set screw=
for
the head once you remove the pans. Our wheels are turning almost contstan=
t 10
hours a day 4 to 5 days a week and not once have we had any problems with=

them.
I won't get into the fact of the problems I had when I was working at ano=
ther
pottery center and I used multiple wheels over the years. Pacifica has
mastered the engineering of their wheel IMHO. I am not saying that one is=

superior over the other but in due respect to Pacifica I will stand to sa=
y,
please do not tromp too hard on a company that has been able to provide m=
any
of the best materials on the market in favor of one item one person likes=

without including validity as to why. (I love B-mix others don't) It is
finicky but isn't porcelain too? We learned how to use that because it wa=
s
expected to be different.
Also we have those like Ned Berry, Bill Zimmerman and Veronika Griffin, =
Jon
Brinley and a few more who are noted professionals in our center with man=
y
published articles. Ned Berry (Southern Living Magazine. Also met with Ji=
mmy
Carter and was commisioned by him publicly while in office) His pottery i=
s in
several older issues. Jon Brinley (Folk Arts) Veronika Griffin (Master
handbuilder/potter and gallery owner orignally from Vienna Austria/German=
y)
Bill Zimmerman ( Archeologist and noted potter that replicates lost art
forms)
And the one and only John Paul Owens (Threw his first cylinder in two day=
s and
in two weeks was producing like a production potter with years of experie=
nce)
All on Pacifica wheels. But they have all threw on other wheels as well a=
nd
none of them are complaining.

Linda said>>>>They struggle to remove the splash pans
on the Pacifica and can never seem to figure out how to put it back on!
I would order another Bailey without hesitation.end<<<

No financial gains are made by this statement. I don't represent them nor=

assume that they would even want me to. Just a note of respect for a job =
well
done. (Affordable too)

I
don't like the business practices of many but I pick and choose the ones =
that
give me their support in favor of those who don't.
