When I was in school, I was sitting
in a group, drinking while throwing, and
at one point someone mentioned that I
looked like I was getting drunk.
My response was, oh, so how can you tell,
the reply was that my pots were getting
straighter.

Guess it works differently for some folks.
Sake would make my pots look more rigid I guess.

This brings back memories; sitting in the workshop with a mate, I was
trying to throw tall jugs and having a bad time of it. My friend (a
table maker) had given up for the afternoon and came to see me.
I opened some rotten orange wine (recipe on request). By the time we
were halfway down the bottle, my jugs were coming of the wheel tall and
beautiful. Don got up to pee and fell over.
Happy days!
