I saw an article in an old Ceramics Monthly by Nils Lou - I don't remember
the
date- where he had some pieces that he had soaked in salt water
and then fired. Very beautiful surfaces, though they did not
look like ordinary salt-glazed surfaces to me. I'd certainly advise
testing the clay body - some students of mine tried it with an iron-
bearing clay, and it completely collapsed, near melting. I believe
Nils used a grolleg porcelain, but am not sure. The article is not
to hand. Maybe Nils would give the article date & clay body.
