I've never used potassium dichromate for a
glaze, but it's used often as a patina
chemical for bronze. Yes, it's quite toxic!

Here's the MSDS, synopsized:

Inhalation of dust or fumes: irritation and
sensitization may occur.

Ingestion: may cause dizziness, pain, thirst,
fever, coma, and liver damage; death from
circulatory collapse or renal failure.

Skin contact: may cause irrtation, ulceration,
and scarring. Absorption: causes symptoms
similar to ingestion.

Eye contact: may cause redness, pain, or
conjunctivitis.

Possible carcinogen.

*Estimated fatal dose: 5 grams

If ingested, give water and induce vomiting.

(Please be very careful with this stuff!)
