I've seen a lot of mention of this glaze on clayart recently.
It is true that I developed it. However I think it is important to
appreciate that this
recipe has its own lengthy web page and that it is intended as a 'home
base' from
which we encourage people to make adjustments to change its thermal expansion,
gloss, melting temperature, to substitute materials it employs to those
they have,
to adjust it to make its chemistry more sympathetic to certain color
systems, etc.
etc. On its web page we explain the reason for each material in its recipe
and for
each oxide in its formula. The whole point is when someone says: "This glaze
crazes", or "this glaze is to shiny", then we say: "we have given you the
tools and
information, change it to fix the problem in your circumstances.

We are also happy to support this recipe and will take emails of problems. But
our answers will typically be in terms of the oxide formula since we assume
that
users can calculate it.
