You know, Elizabeth, you are a valuable asset to this group...
a catalyst and so a hearty welcome back.

Priorities require a choice...we have a limited time to
produce...so I do not want to dilute my meager potential.
Or at least my opportunity to explore the material...
So my priority is to work with clay IN SPITE of the financial
considerations/ repercussions of the choice.
Nobel poverty...
Money is not as important as the search.
All of that stuff.
All the suffering of being poor is repaid when I
make a breakthrough in my work...the time invested
in the ideas..the work..
So to answer...if money is the creator of value for some,
my barometer is measured in having the time to work. Sometimes
that requires me to exchange my time for money to enable me
to have time to work. It is not a perfect world, oh, well.

Work for a boss again? I suppose it is nice to eat but I am lucky
I live in a country where they discriminate against age so the
question doesn't really arise for me but your post gave me
nightmares of commuting to a job I hate and no time for clay. I
don't think there is anything I enjoy as much as clay except maybe
writing scifi and f and that does not pay either! Then there is
working with animals but that is not big bucks either : ( Maybe
that cold garret is my Kismet? At the moment that damn garret is
awfully hot!!!!!!
