"Hello. I'm back again, this time even more briefly than last year.
Again I will be cut off during the Spring Break of the College of
Charleston. Never mind. It's good to be back."...Lili Krakowski

And we are glad to have you back, Lili!!! WELCOME BACK! I for one have
missed your postings, your spicy advise and all the discussion you bring
to ClayArt. So sorry to hear that your pesky carpal tunnel had returned.
Will you get reasonable function back of your right hand? Your thumb?? I
made 2 teapots last week and thought of you. Now here is my question:

I have made a number of clay pots for the garden and I am getting ready
to glaze them...or not glaze them. I've noticed in the garden centers
many of the pots are unglazed on the inside and the bottom with perhaps
only a splash of glaze half way down the pot. Do plants like these pots
better? I didn't think it would matter since once the clay is vitrified,
it is impervious to water. Does the clay remain more porous without
glaze. I think not. Perhaps they don't fire these pots fully so they
will be more porous? Maybe I should be chosing a high fire clay body and
only firing it mid-way. I'm puzzled. I'm sure I end up replacing many of
the plants that I have growing in fully glazed pots. Is it the pot or is
it me??
