Tatsuzo Shimaoka is going to be in Minnesota next month.

Thought folks in the Midwest (or folks interested in the MingeiSota Mecca)
might find this a nice excuse for a weekend in the Twin Cities. The
Master's Reuinion on March 4th is pretty cool. Great to see a stage full
of of the old Masters having an informal discussion.

For More Info see:

The lecture will take place Saturday, March 3, at
2 pm in the Pillsbury Auditorium of The Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
Admission to the lecture is free. The event is co-sponsored by the MIA and
underwritten by a generous grant from The Regis Foundation.

Mr. Shimaoka will also attend the opening of the one-man exhibition of his
work at Northern Clay Center, which will open Friday, March 2, 2001. (see
story above.)

2001 REGIS MASTERS REUNION

The final event of the 2001 Regis Masters weekend will be a reunion of
the previous Regis Masters. The reunion will be at The Minneapolis Institute
of Arts, on Sunday afternoon, March 4, 2001, from 1 to 4:30 pm. While not
all of the Masters will be able to attend, those who have confirmed
attendance to date are William Daley, Warren MacKenzie, Jim Melchert, Robert
Turner, and Betty Woodman. Informal conversations among the artists and with
the audience are scheduled to begin at 1 pm, with a reception to follow at 3
pm. The discussion will take place in the Pillsbury Auditorium, and the
reception in the MIA Fountain Court.

Admission will be $10.00 for the general public and $8.00 for MIA and NCC
members, seniors, and students with a current student ID, and includes the
reception (& cash bar) following the discussion. Reservations will be taken
by the MIA beginning February 1, 2001; call 612.870.3131 for reservations
and additional information.

This afternoon will offer a unique opportunity to see, hear and speak with a
remarkable group of distinguished artists.
