Unfortunately, in attempting to save an email about two women potters (one
blind and deaf) I lost it. I apologize for that. Will the person who
wrote me about them please contact me again.

Kurt:

I apologize for taking sooo long to answer your request for the names of
potters with disabilities. I have now narrowed my practice to working
only with people with VISION impairments. My current [artist]
client wishes to stay anonymous.

However, the American Counsel for the Blind has a Friends of Art
program. The two names I have are: current president Mike Mandel
212-868-0345 (NY) and past president Janiece Peterson, 202-667-2747 (Washington,
DC).

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help
you with the article. It is a great idea and I am so glad you are
doing it. You've helped me take it off my TO DO list - I have often
considered writing this type of article myself; so many of my vision-impaired
clients have inspired me and I keep looking for ways to pass
the inspiration onto others. Once the article is finished, get me
publication copies and I will help circulate [hard copies] of the
article to rehabilitation counselors I work with, to caregivers. Maybe I
can have one blown up as a poster (so my clients can read it) for my new low
vision center going up in Chevy Chase Maryland -- with your permission of
course.
