looking for a studio situation

Hello Clay Friends,

For some 5 years now I have been working on an evolving
project involving decorating stoneware tiles or other reasonably
flat surfaces (platters possible). My studio situation is such
that it will not be practical for me to work in it until spring -
and I'm slowly crazy going without one.

Recently, about a month ago, I found out that I can rent
a small version of the main device we want to use to do a key part
of the work. I guess you can think of it as a "big printer" but
it weighs some 150# and takes up about 3' by 4'. My hope
is to find somebody not only with a clay studio, slab roller,
cone 10 kiln, air compressor and so on, but perhaps also
somebody interested in the decorating techniques. Much
exciting seems possible, or I would have given up a long
time ago.

I'm in Wisconsin but seem unable to find the right situation in
this region so will consider about anything that might make
sense. I can't pay much but perhaps there could be some quid
pro quo. I'm flexible and bored to death.

Please let me know off line if you should have a situation and
want to learn more.

Many thanks,

George Koller

Hi George
On my website I have a place for people to list their potters studios for people to
stop by, and equipment that is available to use. Most have emails addresses and
you could try that.

Hi George,

Terry just left this morning and did speak to me about your process. He did
need to get through the new years and said he wanted to talk to you about
this. He will probably see your post in the meanwhile when he gets back
this afternoon. He is interested in what you are doing but has just had a
lot going on. He does have all the equipment that you mentioned so don't
give up on his involvement. Also, I will be there with all the same
equipment as well and will be reinforcing the tile and architectural aspect
to things. I had two people visit from DC and PA to see the house and even
though both were seriously interested I will put an ad in CM for my house
and studio. The move is planned for this spring. If your unit wasn't heavy,
I'd say come here and play til I leave but one move will be enough as it is
for you. However, if you want to move it and then move it again, you are
welcome here anytime. I have lots of room and a spare bedroom ready to use.
