Andie,
Before Christmas I made several mugs and bowls using this clay. I =
bisqued at cone 06 and glaze fired at cone 6, oxidation. I used a =
burgundy glaze from the clayart archives (don't have the name here in =
front of me right now) and Kemp's 17. Everything turned out lovely. No =
bloating or crazing. =20
I tried a few matte glazes, with some really strange results. Giant =
craters with soft rounded edges to the craters. Refired and held the =
kiln at cone 6 for 1 hour. Everything evened out, craters disappeared. =
But, I think I liked the craters better. Would have looked nice on a =
non functional piece.
As I stated earlier, I have had no problems with this clay bloating.
