ron roy's glaze calc course

Recently we got the Canadore College summer ArtSperience catalog...a
summer long series of sessions in all areas of artistic endeavor.
Last year we too Ron Roy's course, the first week of July in glaze
calculation and testing using the Insight Glaze Calculation program.

All in all it was a fantastic experience. Learned much, much more,
not only about running Insight, but also about glaze formulation and
materials in general. You get hands on experience in mixing and
testing glazes. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for the beginner
in glaze calculation or the casually interested, unless your ready for
some serious challenge. For those with some working knowledge of
glazes, it's a dream.

While focus is on cone 6, higher and lower firing temps are in there
too, and the principals work wherever.

Oh yes. The site is lovely, and 4-1/2 hours north of Toronto (plan to
spend a few days there on your way to or from). Relaxing setting for
some serious learning.

No ties other than a happy camper.

I posted the note the other day about Ron Roy's Canadore College
course this summer. He sent me a note for forwarding to the list
about his change in plans. I'll add, that reading the Canadore
Artsperience catalog is like a wish list for art and arts junkies even
if Ron isn't doing the class there this summer.

Hi Tom - cripes - I thought I posted it to the group - send it along
for
me. I'm at the farm but will go to Scarborpugh tomorrow -
Thanks - RR

Thanks for posting this Tom but I have decided not to teach at
Canador this
summer - to much to do here. I will be offering courses on
Calculation here
at our new home from time to time.
I don't think there will be a course of this kind at Canador this
summer at
all - I recommend someone but they declined. Not easy to find those
willing
to teach this subject but if anyone is interested get in touch.
