does anyone have any recipies for overglaze enamels that do not call for
lead? does anyone have advice on formulating these with frits rather than

Good Morning to All ,

Ky Johnston ,

If your planning to actually make a frit get a copy of -

Porcelain Enamels - A.I Andrews

you can get it as a second hand book or a photocopied
book from the Porcelain Enamel Institute .

If you just want to buy the Lead free overglaze enamels
try - Thompsons Enamels - telephone no.- 606 -291- 3800
[ a catalogue is available ]

You can also look at using a High Acid Resistant Enamel ,
getting it to fit your clay body [ as a glaze ] and applying
another enamel on top . Remember to always have your
product leach tested , if using for food or drink .
Hope this helps ,
Khaimraj

* There are on-line sites for both companies if you search .
