new (used) pugmill

I've never before had a pugmill and now am the excited owner of a Vencoe =
deairing one that I just picked up today. It is a used one with only =
about 50 hours on it. It's still sitting in the box and crate in my =
garage until we can unload it. My question is this....there appears to =
be some oil leakage from the box. Is this something I should be =
concerned about? The outer cardboard box is relatively intact with what =
appear to be just some superficial tears on the sides. I can't tell =
yet about the crate surrounding the pugmill but with the minimal damage =
to the box, I wouldn't suspect anything untoward. Will a pugmill require =
regular "oil checks" much like a car? I don't want to open it just yet =
until I have some idea that the oil isn't an unusual occurance. Thanks =
for your help, and happy holidays to all. Regards....Carly

It is pretty well self sufficient. Two kinds of oil are needed, and not very
often.
It seems likely, to me, that the box has been tilted in transit and oil has
therefore leaked from a hole which is open and should be facing upwards.

I could scan and e-mail the details which came to me from Harry Fraser of
Potclays, if you wish.
