I have a small Paragon Kiln.. inside chamber is 11" X 9", and it fires to
cone 8. I have used it a lot in the last 14 years, and couldn't do without
it. for test fring..it gives me the same results that i get on regular
firings in larger kilns. I also use it for a few small items to cone 6. .
It has 3 inch brick..so it doesn't take much power to fire.. and it will fire
a lot faster than i want to fire..(even after 14 years.. with no element
changes) so i slow it down a bit. Conisidering that it fires on 120 volts..
i dont think you can beat it.. Paragon has an 800 number or your local
dealer can give you more info. AND NO... i do not work for Paragon....

The kiln Jim mentioned below is the S-11-9-3. It uses an infinite
control. In the early 80s this model was the A-11-9-3 with 4-way
rotary switch.

My favorite test kiln is the TnF-Q-11, 5 3/4" w, 6 1/4" h, and 6"
deep inside. It fires to 2300 deg. F. on 120 volts and is digital.
The reason I like it is that it fires fast, is front loading and
easy to repair.
