To all clayarters,
We are so fortunate on Clayart to have a medical doctor, and a public
health official in Eduoard Bastarache. If he says that Lithium is no problem
in small quantities in glazes I do not question his expertise. There are
too many fear mongers on this list. Mia in cold but sunny ABQ

As one who is rather deaf and needs to use hearing aids all the time, I have
a problem disposing of the little lithium batteries. I get through quite a
lot.
It seems from Edouard's view on lithium that the right place for these is in
the glaze.
Has anyone on the list had this problem and actually opened these little
battery cells?
If so, which is the best way?
As a greeny, I have hated putting them in the waste bin. There is always the
danger that a cat might swallow one and need treatment at the vets.
But no-one around here seems to recycle them, as batteries. The larger
batteries are dealt with, but not these small ones.
