Dear Khaimraj Seepersad,

Greetings to you. Are you a cricket fan?

I agree with your point that a frit which incorporates Strontium may =
have a lowered melting point. But it is a fact that frits are glasses =
with a melting range. They are used to provide a low melting point fluid =
in which other things will dissolve.

To put my point in simple terms, many times substitutions are suggested =
without regard to the chemical and physical function of the contributing =
elements, and I do mean elements, not oxides. Most of the alkali and =
alkali earth metals, whatever their origin, become positively charged =
ions once their parent materials dissolve in the silicate melt, whether =
it originates from the feldspars or from a low melting point silicate =
frit.

Unfortunately, I do not have a phase diagram for the system SrO-B2O3 so =
I cannot comment on your information about equilibrium eutectics in that =
system.

Thanks for your contribution, great to have a discussion.

Best regards,

Ivor Lewis.
